Wesley and Auto Trouble

My car lies dead beside the road
Now I will have to have it towed
At least no money on it's owed.

Even the rhymning doesn't lift the cloud from my soul. But this will do it -- contemplation on victory in Christ, courtesy of Mr. Charles Wesley:

Arise, my soul, arise; shake off thy guilty fears;
The bleeding sacrifice in my behalf appears:
Before the throne my surety stands,
Before the throne my surety stands,
My name is written on His hands.

He ever lives above, for me to intercede;
His all redeeming love, His precious blood, to plead:
His blood atoned for all our race,
His blood atoned for all our race,
And sprinkles now the throne of grace.

Five bleeding wounds He bears; received on Calvary;
They pour effectual prayers; they strongly plead for me:
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Nor let that ransomed sinner die!”

The Father hears Him pray, His dear anointed One;
He cannot turn away, the presence of His Son;
His Spirit answers to the blood,
His Spirit answers to the blood,
And tells me I am born of God.

My God is reconciled; His pardoning voice I hear;
He owns me for His child; I can no longer fear:
With confidence I now draw nigh,
With confidence I now draw nigh,
And “Father, Abba, Father,” cry.

Beautiful.

Here's another little something to brighten your dreary day and lift your saddened soul: (although it may come as no surprise)

I am 44% greedy. More than you. Officially.

Argh. :)

Hahaha -- you're TWICE as greedy as I am. 100% more greedy. Double the greed. Hahahaha! That's great.

But, see, the way you have to look at it is that grace abounds in you even more to make you fit to stand before the king -- since you're such a greater sinner and all.

sorry to hear about your car going kaput - no fun there at all

I bypassed the greedy quiz, or at least it bypassed me, wouldn't load, must have been scared of my answers

The third stanza sent chills up my spine. Awesome. But we sang a different version of the second stanza in SBTS chapel last semester, I seem to remember...
