Lewis
"You will certainly carry out God's purpose however you act but it makes a difference to you whether you serve like Judas or like John."
-- C.S. Lewis, "The Problem Of Pain"
A place for the weary travelers to drop their packs and warm their hands by the hearth. Listen to the old men telling lies by the checker board or the young troubadour playing a song of courtly love. Or, if reality's your thing, read my stuff. "There is only one difference between a madman and me. I am not mad." -- Salvador Dali (1904-1989) Spanish surrealist painter

GREAT quote
Are we a willing and submissive participant in God's plan?
or
Are we pulled kicking and screaming through it?
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.
C.S. Lewis has a way with words to convey a message that sticks.
So, what is it that Lewis is saying about God sovereignty here? On the one hand it sounds as if he is saying that God has chosen that we will serve his purpose, which sounds like predestination. Then he seems to imply that we can choose to be a Judas or a John (i.e. choose to be a vessel for mercy or for destruction), which sounds like free will.
Well, I don't know if Lewis was a Calvinist or Arminian, but I don't think the quote necessarily would be rejected by those in either camp (among both of whom are loyal Monkey Maniacs).
God's purpose and plan will certainly come to fruition, and he certainly knows who is a Judas and who is a John. But we can certainly choose this day whom we will serve, just as Joshua demanded of the Israelites.
So the bunny thinks we're robots. That's interesting.
Rabby, you're suppose to speak the truth in love, not call people pansies.
Although i have to admit that Nancy-boy always makes me laugh.
