51-year old nurse lays fatal smackdown on burgling ex-con

The gist of it is that a female nurse in Oregon came home and found an intruder in her house, who was armed with a hammer. A violent struggle ensued, during which she disarmed him and strangled him to death with her bare hands.
Don't mess with nurses.
The police are not pressing charges, saying it was a clear case of self-defense. The intruder was an ex-con who'd recently gotten out of jail at the end of a 20-year sentence.

So, there are 2 possible conclusions one could draw from this story. Either nurses know a lot about anatomy, and would therefor be very good at strangling someone, or, she just got off a hard night at work, which for a nurse, might be comparable to 20 years in the penn.
Whew, that was quite a sentence. Where's Lorie when you need her?
Yeah, and another thing that the story pointed out was that he was a slight-built little burglar, whereas she's good-sized and "strong." Still, one would have thought that the hammer would have evened the odds a bit. Weird.
But it's good that God was with the woman, and sad that someone's life had to end.
